the bishkek adventure

although "our story" as a couple originated in 2006... the bishkek adventure officially began in july of 2008 when jennifer and i accepted teaching positions at an international school in bishkek, kyrygzstan. we started this blog with the hope that it would be an entertaining and accurate catalog of our years living abroad. although we are back in the states now after two years in central asia and our life is not nearly as exotic or exciting... we are keeping the blog going writing for our friends, families and for our first born child, olivia (olive) annmarie conover, who blessed us with her arrival on monday, august 24 at 2:15pm.

our travel plans home were finalized yesterday... now the countdown begins.

Depart Bishkek on Saturday, June 13 at 630am

Arrive Moscow on June 13 at 905am

Depart Moscow on June 13 at 300pm

Arrive Washington Dulles on June 13 at 540pm

Layover in Washington, DC

Depart Washington Dulles on June 14 at 820am

Arrive Houston Intercontinental on Sunday, June 14 at 1036am

we were originally planning on having a layover on the way home in either istanbul or london... but decided to scrap those plans in order to get home sooner. we also found out that aeroflot (the russian airline we are traveling on) is our best bet for traveling back to bishkek at the end of the summer with our dog boone.

during our six hour layover in russia are going to see if we can hook up with my friend patrick buzzard from high school. he lives in moscow with his family and works for nasa at the american embassy. not sure if we are going to travel into moscow (which would be great to see) or if they will come to the airport. depends on visas (always with the visas!).

we weren't planning on laying over in dc... but the airline is requiring it... i am not sure if it is a logistical issue or a customs issue. we are going to stay at a hotel next to the airport and if we can muster the energy... we will try to head into dc proper for dinner and sight seeing.

can't wait to get home.
