the bishkek adventure

although "our story" as a couple originated in 2006... the bishkek adventure officially began in july of 2008 when jennifer and i accepted teaching positions at an international school in bishkek, kyrygzstan. we started this blog with the hope that it would be an entertaining and accurate catalog of our years living abroad. although we are back in the states now after two years in central asia and our life is not nearly as exotic or exciting... we are keeping the blog going writing for our friends, families and for our first born child, olivia (olive) annmarie conover, who blessed us with her arrival on monday, august 24 at 2:15pm.

take two: and the baby is a...

we found maternity hospital #2 no problem this time. left home early in plenty of time and actually had good directions this time. we met dr. arena out front and made our way to the clinic. the hospital was in typical post soviet form... old, decaying, falling apart. didn't even phase us although we joked that our families would be mortified if they saw it.

dr. arena (who is wonderful and kind) assured us (although we weren't worried in the least) that the doctor doing the ultra sound was the best at what he did in all of kyrgyzstan. which was exciting to hear...

until we found out that he had to cancel on the appointment... again. death in the family.

UGH!

we rescheduled for friday.
