this week i started a masters program at bay path college. bay path is located in longmeadow, massachusetts... a long commute from bishkek so i will be taking the entire program online. i spent a good part of last spring and this summer researching different universities and bay path seems to be the best fit. affordable and quick.
i will be studying non-profit management with an emphasis in higher education administration. what can i do with that? who knows. anything and everything i hope. many of the jobs that i have applied for the past year i feel like i have been highly qualified for on paper... but lacking my masters has always limited me.
anyway... i am very excited about the program. a bit stressed. it has been a long time since i was a student and then i was studying "camping" which obviously didn't require much academic rigor on my part.
as long as i take six credits a semester... i will finish the program in one year. it is going to be a lot of work but i am looking forward to it. i hope it opens up many more career options. both overseas and back in the states.
below is a screen shot of my bay path college profile. not as cool as facebook but i like the family photo!
the bishkek adventure
although "our story" as a couple originated in 2006... the bishkek adventure officially began in july of 2008 when jennifer and i accepted teaching positions at an international school in bishkek, kyrygzstan. we started this blog with the hope that it would be an entertaining and accurate catalog of our years living abroad. although we are back in the states now after two years in central asia and our life is not nearly as exotic or exciting... we are keeping the blog going writing for our friends, families and for our first born child, olivia (olive) annmarie conover, who blessed us with her arrival on monday, august 24 at 2:15pm.
