the bishkek adventure

although "our story" as a couple originated in 2006... the bishkek adventure officially began in july of 2008 when jennifer and i accepted teaching positions at an international school in bishkek, kyrygzstan. we started this blog with the hope that it would be an entertaining and accurate catalog of our years living abroad. although we are back in the states now after two years in central asia and our life is not nearly as exotic or exciting... we are keeping the blog going writing for our friends, families and for our first born child, olivia (olive) annmarie conover, who blessed us with her arrival on monday, august 24 at 2:15pm.

friday night quiz night

tonight we went to a "quiz night" at chris's house. him and his girlfriend came up an elaborate list of questions... and after plenty of good food and wine... they split the party (there were about 25 people there) up into five different groups and had us try our best to answer questions ranging from "the noble peace prize", to "name that dictator", to "is this famous person dead or alive".

it was a good time and reminded jen of quiz nights they use to have when she lived in wales. it was great getting to see some folks whom we hadn't seen since we have been back although everyone was more interested in olive than in us.

olive was pretty good most of the night until she had an epic breakdown around 1100am which forced us to escort the crying baby home. olive is pretty particular that way... she didn't want to sleep at someone else's house. she wanted to sleep in her own bed.

our daughter is a homebody.
