tonight had dinner at the home of the holmes - a new embassy family. we really like them and it is kind of funny how it has all worked out. they live in the same house that the mcbride's (our good embassy friends from last year who moved back to the states) lived in, they drive the mcbride's car (which they bought from them), and they have kids at bis (like the mcbrides did). so they are pretty much our replacement mcbrides.
i had hung out with them already a couple of times before at social events but this was the first time that jennifer had met them. we really all hit it off. they are jazzed about living overseas (they were in albania last year). and they love ice cream and chai. so we pretty much have every in common.
the bishkek adventure
although "our story" as a couple originated in 2006... the bishkek adventure officially began in july of 2008 when jennifer and i accepted teaching positions at an international school in bishkek, kyrygzstan. we started this blog with the hope that it would be an entertaining and accurate catalog of our years living abroad. although we are back in the states now after two years in central asia and our life is not nearly as exotic or exciting... we are keeping the blog going writing for our friends, families and for our first born child, olivia (olive) annmarie conover, who blessed us with her arrival on monday, august 24 at 2:15pm.
