the bishkek adventure

although "our story" as a couple originated in 2006... the bishkek adventure officially began in july of 2008 when jennifer and i accepted teaching positions at an international school in bishkek, kyrygzstan. we started this blog with the hope that it would be an entertaining and accurate catalog of our years living abroad. although we are back in the states now after two years in central asia and our life is not nearly as exotic or exciting... we are keeping the blog going writing for our friends, families and for our first born child, olivia (olive) annmarie conover, who blessed us with her arrival on monday, august 24 at 2:15pm.

mac burger

often during lunch (a 30 minute break) jen and i will go for a walk in the neighborhood around the school. sometimes we will bring a pack lunch with us and munch while walking. sometimes we will hit a little sidewalk stand selling gamburgers or somsas. last week we decided to try out a new "burger" joint in town which had opened up right down the street from the school.

mac burger has everything one could want at a burger joint. red lettering on the sign. big yellow arches. it is almost like being back home. the fries were thick and tasty. and the hamburger (at least the part that was actually cooked) tasted great going down.

too bad it didn't feel as good coming back out.

after our first and last visit to mac burger... we have decided to rename it "mac diarrhea".
