the bishkek adventure


although "our story" as a couple originated in 2006... the bishkek adventure officially began in july of 2008 when jennifer and i accepted teaching positions at an international school in bishkek, kyrygzstan. we started this blog with the hope that it would be an entertaining and accurate catalog of our years living abroad. although we are back in the states now after two years in central asia and our life is not nearly as exotic or exciting... we are keeping the blog going writing for our friends, families and for our first born child, olivia (olive) annmarie conover, who blessed us with her arrival on monday, august 24 at 2:15pm.

birthday package/care package

in the mail yesterday we received a birthday package/care package from my mom. i can't not believe how excited we get over "ordinary" food items. but here in central asia... nothing with an american flavor is considered ordinary. but even more than the wonderful birthday card... even more than the oreos (OREOS!)... even more than the sour candy... even more so than the peanut butter (jen is so happy!)... even more than the three jars of jalapeños... even more than the corn bread... even more than the microwave popcorn... WE LOVED olive's first swimsuit and her first spoon!

the swimsuit is so cute. we picked it up and held it about ten times before we even looked at anything else in the box. we so love this baby!

thank you mom for thinking of us and know we love you and bobby dearly.
