the bishkek adventure

although "our story" as a couple originated in 2006... the bishkek adventure officially began in july of 2008 when jennifer and i accepted teaching positions at an international school in bishkek, kyrygzstan. we started this blog with the hope that it would be an entertaining and accurate catalog of our years living abroad. although we are back in the states now after two years in central asia and our life is not nearly as exotic or exciting... we are keeping the blog going writing for our friends, families and for our first born child, olivia (olive) annmarie conover, who blessed us with her arrival on monday, august 24 at 2:15pm.

friday night date night

tonight, as is tradition, we headed out with olive for our weekly friday night date night.  ened up being a bit perplexed as our little japanese was closed.  ended up going across the street from it to a middle eastern place called beriut.  ran into some friends from the embassy.  lots of baby talk.  amazing hummus with lamb.  and as always... a wonderful time with my wife.

afterward we came home and got olive to sleep and watched two more episodes of our new favorite show - "true blood". if you haven't seen it... it is on hbo and is pretty crazy/funny/odd/scary. a pretty typical vampire/human love story except for the fact that the vampire's name is bill... he plays wii... and instead of vampires drinking human blood... humans also drink vampire blood. lots of gratuitous violence and nudity but if you can get past that... a great story.

  1. Vampires must be the new craze. Much to do going on about "Twilight" in the states. Another vampire love story.
