on sunday afternoon my wife made olive a hat. she had been working on it since saturday night. completely hand sewn. not sure how she manages to be so crafty and creative. it is one of the things i love about her.
olive might not look too happy in a couple of the photos but i am sure she loves the hat as much as we do.
the bishkek adventure
although "our story" as a couple originated in 2006... the bishkek adventure officially began in july of 2008 when jennifer and i accepted teaching positions at an international school in bishkek, kyrygzstan. we started this blog with the hope that it would be an entertaining and accurate catalog of our years living abroad. although we are back in the states now after two years in central asia and our life is not nearly as exotic or exciting... we are keeping the blog going writing for our friends, families and for our first born child, olivia (olive) annmarie conover, who blessed us with her arrival on monday, august 24 at 2:15pm.

I love her faces (the hat is nice too)! She seems to be funny. Lenara and her will have so much fun together. And they have something to talk about already: their annoying Moms who make (Jenn) or buy (me) new hats all the time! What language do you think they'll speak: English (Lenara listens to lots of English music), Russian (Olive knows Russian from Nina and Lenara is a KG baby also plus her Dad is obsessed with KG) or German (I don't know about Olive's German, how is that progressing?). I better get out my own old English, bc I haven't talked forever...
