the bishkek adventure

although "our story" as a couple originated in 2006... the bishkek adventure officially began in july of 2008 when jennifer and i accepted teaching positions at an international school in bishkek, kyrygzstan. we started this blog with the hope that it would be an entertaining and accurate catalog of our years living abroad. although we are back in the states now after two years in central asia and our life is not nearly as exotic or exciting... we are keeping the blog going writing for our friends, families and for our first born child, olivia (olive) annmarie conover, who blessed us with her arrival on monday, august 24 at 2:15pm.

tanzania

in our ever ending search for next year i came across i pretty amazing job in tanzania.  there is an international school below the slopes of mt. kilimanjaro.  approximately 400 students.  they are hiring someone to run the athletic program, teach physical education, and run the outdoor adventure program!  seems like the 100% perfect overseas teaching job.  they are also looking for a lower elementary teacher so jen fits in really well too.

i sent off our resumes and almost immediately got a response.  the director said they are going to start interviewing in the next couple of weeks and that i could expect to hear back from them.

we have never seriously considered living in africa - but tanzania is suppose to be a wonderful, safe and welcoming country from everything we have heard.  we will see...

  1. Now if you make it to Tanzania I know I will have to find a way to get there. They may have to sedate me for such a long trip, but I would find a way.
