the bishkek adventure

although "our story" as a couple originated in 2006... the bishkek adventure officially began in july of 2008 when jennifer and i accepted teaching positions at an international school in bishkek, kyrygzstan. we started this blog with the hope that it would be an entertaining and accurate catalog of our years living abroad. although we are back in the states now after two years in central asia and our life is not nearly as exotic or exciting... we are keeping the blog going writing for our friends, families and for our first born child, olivia (olive) annmarie conover, who blessed us with her arrival on monday, august 24 at 2:15pm.

jennifer's birthday

today is my best friend's birthday.

on the way to work this morning i asked her that when she was a little girl if this is what she imagined her life being like at 30... living in central asia, teaching, expecting a baby and being married.

in typical jennifer fashion... she gave a perfect answer.

and that is how i think of you jennifer... as perfect.

you are the perfect friend. you are the perfect wife. and you are going to be the perfect mother.

thank you so much for being my best friend, my wife and my family. i love you so dearly that i struggle sometimes to find ways to let you know how strongly i feel. but i promise to always try my hardest to do so.

have a wonderful day today. i know we are far away from family and friends but it isn't every birthday you get to celebrate with mystery meat for dinner at a "fancy" kyrygz restaurant.
