the bishkek adventure

although "our story" as a couple originated in 2006... the bishkek adventure officially began in july of 2008 when jennifer and i accepted teaching positions at an international school in bishkek, kyrygzstan. we started this blog with the hope that it would be an entertaining and accurate catalog of our years living abroad. although we are back in the states now after two years in central asia and our life is not nearly as exotic or exciting... we are keeping the blog going writing for our friends, families and for our first born child, olivia (olive) annmarie conover, who blessed us with her arrival on monday, august 24 at 2:15pm.

mighty snowflakes win again

we played our final game of the season tonight against the number two team in the league. three game winning streak on the line and a chance to up our record to 6-4. the game was a thing of beauty. our kids clicked on offense for the first time... swung the ball to the open man... took good open shots... of course we didn't make many of them as we couldn't hit the ocean from the shore. but i was proud of them. we played tough defense and didn't back down with the other team (all local, russian/krygyz kids) starting playing cheap and dirty as the russian kids usually do when they start losing. we pulled out a 36 to 30 victory. go snowflakes!

we are taking a two week break before heading into a playoff tournament.
