the bishkek adventure

although "our story" as a couple originated in 2006... the bishkek adventure officially began in july of 2008 when jennifer and i accepted teaching positions at an international school in bishkek, kyrygzstan. we started this blog with the hope that it would be an entertaining and accurate catalog of our years living abroad. although we are back in the states now after two years in central asia and our life is not nearly as exotic or exciting... we are keeping the blog going writing for our friends, families and for our first born child, olivia (olive) annmarie conover, who blessed us with her arrival on monday, august 24 at 2:15pm.

spring break india

it is official. we are going to india over spring break. leaving bishkek on the 21st of march and returning on the 28th. will fly out of almaty, kazakhstan on saturday. spend a couple of days exploring "the golden triangle" of delhi, agra (including the taj mahal), and jaipur before heading north to chandigarh and amritsar where we will hang out with ramon and linda - our couchsurfing friends which we met in karakol. they are really good people and we can't wait to spend some more time with them.

we are super excited. planning on traveling light with one small backpack that i will carry (jen will be carrying the baby!). our big plan is to take a photo of the baby (aka jen's belly) outside the red fort, taj mahal, golden palace and other sites in india. also... we can't wait for the food!

more details to follow as we get closer.

  1. congrats to mr. and mrs. conover... just saw the blog yesterday and saw the good news that you are expectant parents...haven't had time to catch up on all the blogs, however, congratulations are definitely in order from what i did read...dave, you'll make an excellent father i'm sure of it...aside from biology, i'd like to think that a father is man in a young persons life that wants to be there to educate, motive and inspire a sense of altruism; as far as i'm concerned these are all qualities that you possess in abundance and are always evident in all that you do and say...again, CONGRAT, CONGRATS, CONGRATS to the both of you!!!!!
