the bishkek adventure


although "our story" as a couple originated in 2006... the bishkek adventure officially began in july of 2008 when jennifer and i accepted teaching positions at an international school in bishkek, kyrygzstan. we started this blog with the hope that it would be an entertaining and accurate catalog of our years living abroad. although we are back in the states now after two years in central asia and our life is not nearly as exotic or exciting... we are keeping the blog going writing for our friends, families and for our first born child, olivia (olive) annmarie conover, who blessed us with her arrival on monday, august 24 at 2:15pm.

international school expeditions

jen and i are in the process of making a proposal to quality schools international (the company that runs our school and 30 plus others) to start a outdoor leadership program.

the name of the program would be international school expeditions (click link to see the website) and it's purpose would be to offer staff development, team building, outings clubs, and adventure travel to qsi schools.

i've drawn heavily from my experiences at cal state san bernardino to help design the program and we are really excited to see what qsi's response is going to be. as much as i enjoy teaching... my passion really is on outdoor leadership. we are hoping that they take the program on. if not... jen and i are seriously considering starting it on our own. wish us luck!
