since we returned from almaty early on saturday (instead of sunday), we were able to make it to a birthday party being thrown for the mom of yassi, the school librarian. really, really good people who we had hung out with once before (at the german national day celebration). yassi's dad works at the german embassy so there were lots of folks there from the german, indian and us embassy.
amazing food. good drinks. fun music. and the highlight... was jen dancing with the german ambassador.
after dinner, people started dancing in the living room. the ambassador, whom we had chatted with while eating, was standing and watching. so jen decided to go up and ask him to dance and they tore up the rug together. so much fun!

the bishkek adventure
although "our story" as a couple originated in 2006... the bishkek adventure officially began in july of 2008 when jennifer and i accepted teaching positions at an international school in bishkek, kyrygzstan. we started this blog with the hope that it would be an entertaining and accurate catalog of our years living abroad. although we are back in the states now after two years in central asia and our life is not nearly as exotic or exciting... we are keeping the blog going writing for our friends, families and for our first born child, olivia (olive) annmarie conover, who blessed us with her arrival on monday, august 24 at 2:15pm.
