the bishkek adventure

although "our story" as a couple originated in 2006... the bishkek adventure officially began in july of 2008 when jennifer and i accepted teaching positions at an international school in bishkek, kyrygzstan. we started this blog with the hope that it would be an entertaining and accurate catalog of our years living abroad. although we are back in the states now after two years in central asia and our life is not nearly as exotic or exciting... we are keeping the blog going writing for our friends, families and for our first born child, olivia (olive) annmarie conover, who blessed us with her arrival on monday, august 24 at 2:15pm.

moving

how is it possible that we have accumulated so much "stuff" in our ten months here. we have junk drawers (much if the stuff in the junk drawers are the same things that were in junk drawers in california and then in texas... the junk just keeps following us from place to place).

we make a concerted effort to minimize. not to be minimalist mind you... but to minimize. yet we still have so much crap (sorry for the grown up word olive). and when we return to houston in a couple of days we will have another apartment full of crap (or "schort" as they say in russian). ugh.

anyway... we have spent this week packing and moving... packing and moving. yet still here it is the day before we leave and we aren't packed up yet.

if there is a hell... and i am unsure of the existence of an eternal damnation. if it exist and i "somehow" end up there... i am sure i will be condemned to spending the ever after moving. packing. moving. unpacking. repacking. moving. on and on and on and on.

and that concludes today's venting!
