the bishkek adventure

although "our story" as a couple originated in 2006... the bishkek adventure officially began in july of 2008 when jennifer and i accepted teaching positions at an international school in bishkek, kyrygzstan. we started this blog with the hope that it would be an entertaining and accurate catalog of our years living abroad. although we are back in the states now after two years in central asia and our life is not nearly as exotic or exciting... we are keeping the blog going writing for our friends, families and for our first born child, olivia (olive) annmarie conover, who blessed us with her arrival on monday, august 24 at 2:15pm.

sunday night sing-a-long

warning. the following is another video of me singing to my daughter. it might make you think of the early rounds of "american idol" when the really horrible people get a chance to sing... and i am that horrible. but olive seems to like it so daddy is going to sing!

sunday morning grumpy

olive woke up pretty grump this morning. she didn't want the boob... she didn't want to be consoled. we figured that she must be tired so i decided to sing to her. it worked. score one for dad... i feel useful for the first time.

happy 28 weeks baby!

sunday was the 28 week mark for baby olivia. 28 weeks down and only 84 more days to go. our days are marked not by the count down to come home (which we do that as well) but by a count down until baby. after having grown up in texas... i can't believe that i am actually looking forward to august in houston (it's very hot and very humid for those of you who don't know)!

as you can see from the photos... jen is looking beautiful and is starting to show just a tad!

baby clothes

one of jen's friends from the embassy, tina marie, has us over wednesday night and gave us (well... gave olive) tons of great baby clothes. it was so much fun to bring them back to the house, go through them, and imagine our little baby all dressed up.

daughter... when you are grown up and reading this... maybe you are even grounded for a week as you read this... no scratch that... if you are grounded you won't be allowed on the internet. anyway... when you finally read this know that your mother and i already love you more than anything... and you aren't even born yet.
