we woke to at least of foot of snow this morning with more coming down. our backyard/driveway looked like something out of a christmas postcard. the trees draped in white. the ground soft and quiet like a feather bed. it was so peaceful and tranquil walking outside first thing in the morning with not a disrupting footprint to be found or sound to be heard.
and then i let boone out.
all i can say is that crazy dog loves, loves, loves snow. he was leaping and bounding his way around the yard kicking up a storm of snow everywhere he went. it was so much fun watching him frolic. especially when he would build up some speed while running and then try to stop and change direction as he ended up sliding into fences, trees, bushes and our car.
the bishkek adventure
although "our story" as a couple originated in 2006... the bishkek adventure officially began in july of 2008 when jennifer and i accepted teaching positions at an international school in bishkek, kyrygzstan. we started this blog with the hope that it would be an entertaining and accurate catalog of our years living abroad. although we are back in the states now after two years in central asia and our life is not nearly as exotic or exciting... we are keeping the blog going writing for our friends, families and for our first born child, olivia (olive) annmarie conover, who blessed us with her arrival on monday, august 24 at 2:15pm.

olive and boone
if jen and i had any worries at all about boone and how he was going to be around olive... those are complete gone at this point. boone is awesome around her. he respects olive space but still comes up and checks her out every once in a while and is always gentle. he isn't jealous at all of when we are giving her all the attention. he tends to hang out in the same room as her and sit in such a way that he can always keep an eye out on her.
they are working out great together.

dock dogs
on saturday jen, boone and myself went down to discovery green to take part in the dock dog jumping competition which consist of throwing a ball off the end of a dock and seeing how far your dog can jump. as proud parents, we fooled ourselves into thinking that boone could make it 15 to 20 feet like some of the other dogs (he jumped 5 1/2!). needless to say it was a really fun day. we were interviewed by local 39 news (click link below to see the video) and as life would have it... they spelled my name "davod conover". high quality journalism there... can't even spell my name right.
